- One RHS Gold Medal (1993) and a World Orchid Conference Bronze (1993) for paintings of European and Australian Terrestrial orchids
- After not showing for 25 years, another RHS Gold Medal for paintings of British lichens, 2018
- Botanical artist to an expedition to the rainforests of Sumatra
- Many successful exhibitions in Britain and abroad, notably at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and in galleries in Brisbane, Australia
- Work held in collections worldwide, notably the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, The Shirley Sherwood Collection of Contemporary Botanical Art, The RHS and RBG Kew
- Founder Member, and Honorary Secretary for its first ten years, of the Society of Botanical Artists
- Has illustrated, or contributed illustrations to, a wide range of publications
- Recently retired from tutoring botanical painting courses and workshops, now delivers online workshops (click on ‘Courses’)
- Has written and illustrated several books on the folklore, history and medicinal uses of wild plants (see ‘Books’ in the Shop)
- A committed member of several conservation organisations
- Travels widely to study and paint native flora in Britain and abroad
