About Christina Hart-Davies
- BA(Hons) degree in Typography and Graphic Communication
- Several years working with a Central London design group, responsible for the design and production of educational books and other projects
- Professional botanical artist for almost thirty years
- Three Gold Medals awarded by the Royal Horticultural Society in London for paintings of mosses and lichens
- One RHS Gold Medal and a World Orchid Conference Bronze for paintings of European and Australian terrestrial orchids
- Botanical artist to an expedition to the rainforests of Sumatra
- Many successful exhibitions in Britain and abroad, notably at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
- Work held in collections worldwide, notably The Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and The Shirley Sherwood Collection of Contemporary Botanical Art
- Founder Member, and Honorary Secretary for its first ten years, of the Society of Botanical Artists
- Has illustrated, or contributed illustrations to, a wide range of publications
- Tutors occasional courses and workshops on botanical painting (click on 'Courses')
- A committed member of several conservation organisations
- Travels widely to study and paint native flora in Britain and abroad
- Not entirely without a sense of humour!
